Court Hotel

Court Hotel

Utrecht, The Netherlands

Dating back to 1064, the Court Hotel combines a long and interesting history with personable staff and a convenient location for exploring Utrecht. The building was originally an abbey before becoming a courthouse, and you can still see remnants of its days as a cloister, like a stone relief outside the front door.

The hotel’s courthouse past is also evident through decor choices, including walls lined with black-and-white images of the courtrooms during cases and portraits of the people who worked there. These historic details are mixed with more modern geometric decor.

The 27 rooms also feel stylish and contemporary with clean lines, dark furnishings and muted blue and mustard tones throughout.

The intimate hotel is owned by locals who go out of their way to show off their city and make your stay special through their warm service.

OUR OPINION:

We like this hotel for its chic decor and personable staff, plus the rich heritage of the building that shines through in the architecture and artwork.

Rooms

The Court Hotel has 27 rooms, divided between Court Room and Court Room Deluxe. The rooms are all spacious and similar in size, with the only difference being that the Deluxe rooms are at the back of the building so they’re a bit quieter and have a French balcony.

The rooms have a chic and modern feel to them, with dark wood floors and furnishings, muted teal-blue walls and mustard-toned bedframes and chairs. There are no interconnecting rooms, but adding a single bed is possible upon request in any room.

All rooms have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
