I have been very fortunate and travelled from a young age with my family which ignited my passion for exploration. However, it was during a career break that I decided to embark on my first solo adventure. I packed my rucksack and left on a 15-month adventure around the world with Southeast Asia being the finale. Vietnam and Cambodia especially resonated with me because of their architectural, historical and gastronomical variety. I was blown away by how genuine and welcoming the people were.
I learned a lot about who I want to be from them and it was when I returned home I decided to make a career and life change, so I moved from Italy to London to join Audley to help others feel those same 'travel butterflies' in their stomachs. The world is such a colourful place, full of exploration opportunities and I want a career where I can now share this passion for Southeast Asia with others.

Q&A with Christian
What鈥檚 the best local dish you鈥檝e tasted?
A real must when in Vietnam is sampling Hoi An鈥檚 typical Cao Lâo brown noodles, made by three families in the area. While the ingredients are common knowledge across Vietnam, it's in Hoi An where you can experience the authentic dish by one of these families.
What鈥檚 your most vivid travel moment?
Whilst in Caye Caulker (Belize) I set out at sunrise on a very small fishing boat. We sailed a few kilometres out into the ocean to snorkel in the world鈥檚 second longest coral barrier, the Mesoamerican Reef. We were the only ones there until we went underwater and were surrounded by moray eels, stingrays, barracudas, thousands of colourful fish and even a group of sharks. There were so many colours thanks to the dazzling tropical sun. I never felt so alive and so far from civilisation.
Your best piece of travel advice?
On a recent trip to Vietnam and Cambodia with Audley I learned about the importance of sustainable travel. We stayed in several ecolodges where most of the employees come from local communities. The properties not only provided employment but they also gave back to the community by providing schools. I was able to enjoy staying in top quality properties in very niche locations, absorbing the local culture whilst doing good at the same time. I highly recommend you ask me about our sustainable travel options and incorporate these into your trip.
