Boraha Village is located on the east side of the island. It is a small and personal hotel having just 14 bungalows dotted around the hillside under palms with ocean views.

The bungalows are simple but comfortable with spacious decks with chairs and a hammock, double or twin beds, ceiling fans (no air-conditioning) and basic en suite bathrooms with hot showers. In addition to the double and twin chalets there are also a number of family chalets with two rooms and a shared bathroom.

Because the hotel is located on a hillside it gets a good sea-breeze. The disadvantage of this is that at certain times of the year it is windy, however, the advantage is that the breeze keeps the mosquitoes away.

There is a dining room with lovely sea views and a beautiful jetty with tables at the end. The crab here is a speciality — it comes recommended! The hotel currently doesn't have a pool although plans are in place to build one. There is, however, a very small massage room that offers a variety of relaxing treatments. The hotel is above a small sandy beach in a quiet spot, however we recommend swimming straight from the jetty — it's a lovely place for a low-key and relaxed stay.

In June, humpback whales come from the waters of the South Pole to the Ste Marie Channel, not far off the coast. The channel is protected by the East coast of Madagascar and by Sainte-Marie, ideal for whales who come to breed and calve.
