Built in 1921 as the Croatian branch of Austrian bank, Wiener Bank-verein, this heritage property on Zagreb鈥檚 pedestrian-only Juri拧i膰eva Street opened as a hotel in 2018. Inside, you鈥檒l find a wealth of original interiors, including wood panelling, decorative high ceilings, striking arched windows, and restored antique furniture. All of the 112 stylish rooms offer a mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau design influences as well as parquet wooden flooring, chandeliers, dark walls, and wood accents. Amenities include a flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, minibars, and modern bathrooms with walk-in showers.

Elsewhere, there鈥檚 an elegant restaurant in the bank鈥檚 former lobby for menus showcasing northern and central Croatian cuisine, a caf茅 for coffee, tea, and pastries, and a bar that has earned a city-wide reputation for its inventive cocktails and wine selection. You鈥檒l also find a small boutique selling local clothing and other handicrafts, a well-equipped fitness room with free weights and exercise machines, and a vault and safe in the basement with the bank鈥檚 original security door still in place.

For those who appreciate rich and decorative interiors and attentive service, this heritage hotel in the heart of Zagreb is a stylish choice. We especially love the original detailing, such as the basement vault turned lounge.

Available in varying categories, the 112 stylish rooms offer a mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau design influences, parquet wooden flooring, chandeliers, dark walls, and wood accents. The Cosy rooms have interior views, while the Superior rooms overlook the atrium or park. The Heritage rooms are more classically styled and feature dark wood panelling and furniture.

The substantially larger Studio suite offers seating areas and views across Juri拧i膷eva Street while the Corner suites have additional living areas and extra windows for preferred views. Amenities in all rooms include flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, minibars, and modern bathrooms with walk-in showers.

Location

Located in the heart of Zagreb and just two minutes from the vibrant Ban Jela膷i膰 Square, you鈥檒l be within easy walking distance from most of the city鈥檚 major attractions, museums, and restaurants. The pedestrian-only Juri拧i膰eva Street that connects the main square with the eastern part of the city via tramway is located next to the hotel and has interesting shops selling clothing and souvenirs.

Food and drink

Buffet style breakfasts with à la carte options are available at the on-site Restaurant & Bar Capital. This is also the setting for lunch and dinner, with menus pulling focus on northern and central Croatian cuisine. The hotel has a caf茅 for coffee, tea, and pastries in addition to a bar that has earned a citywide reputation for its inventive cocktails and wine selection.
