Capella Hanoi

Capella Hanoi

Hanoi, Vietnam

Capella Hanoi takes its inspiration from the famous Hanoi Opera House, which is only minutes away on foot, as well as the distinctive style of the 1920s. Each of the rooms and suites have touches of Vietnamese decor combined with pieces inspired by the opera. All rooms and suites feature an elegant French balcony for guests to enjoy views over the city and Hoan Kiem Lake.

Visit the Backstage restaurant for Northern Vietnamese cuisine, stop by the Diva's Lounge or The Hudson Rooms for cocktails, or enjoy modern Japanese cuisine at Koki. Guests will benefit from Capella's signature excellent service, as well as modern amenities and an award-winning spa. The state-of-the art indoor swimming pool is easily one of the largest to be found in Hanoi and is accompanied by an adjacent and well-equipped fitness centre.

The Capella also offers a series of immersive experiences including bamboo paper fan making, an opportunity to learn about lacquer painting from a master artist, and an invitation to infuse your own gin at one of the only gin distilleries in the country. Evening cultural performances are also held in the Living Room every night and cover everything from traditional puppet shows to operatic singing performances.

OUR OPINION:

Easily one of the most stylish properties to be found in Hanoi, the Capella creates and revives the spirit of the 1920s and provides an elegant and sophisticated stay in the heart of the city.

Rooms

At the Capella, each of the 47 rooms are individually designed and styled with original historic artefacts and local artwork. Guests can enjoy views of the city from their elegant French balcony and state-of-the art amenities are fitted in every room. Upgrading to one of the property's Opera Suites will provide a beautiful alfresco terrace directly overlooking the bustling Hoan Kiem District.

Location

Nestled within Hanoi’s mesmerising and landmark filled French Quarter, the Capella has a near perfect location within the capital with an eclectic choice of restaurants, bars and markets surrounding the property and with Hoan Kiem Lake just a block away.

Food and drink

The signature restaurant, Backstage, is arguably one of the city’s most characterful where exceptional cuisine is served to a backdrop of theatrical costumes and vintage tableware. The menu is heavily Northern Vietnamese based, complemented by some international favourites and the majority of the ingredients are sourced locally and prepared using contemporary cooking techniques. For beverages, head to the Diva’s Lounge where bohemian cocktails are prepared by expert mixologists in a 1920s leading ladies themed bar. Upon the rooftop you will find The Hudson Rooms, where oysters and caviar is served with the finest whiskeys and tasty tipples with views of the city skyline.

You can also savour Japan's finest flavours at the Capella’s teppanyaki restaurant, Hibana by Koki, which received a Michelin Star in 2023.
