Fisherman in Hoi An

The fishermen of Hoi An

Fisherman in Hoi An

Your tour starts early this morning with your guide collecting you from your hotel at 8.30am for the transfer to the nearby fishing village. You will have a chance to explore the village with your guide and learn a little about the fishermen and their daily family life of fixing the nets, repairing boats and preparing the fish for market. You will then board a traditional fishing vessel and head out along the Hoi An River to the mouth of the South China Sea.

Climbing into a small basket boat, you will weave your way through a maze of water palms to a remote fishing village where you will stop for a snack. Here you can explore the now tranquil coconut-palm flanked waterways and hear of the extreme conditions endured by soldiers of both sides of the American/Vietnam War. You will then be shown how to raise and throw the traditional cast and round nets and hopefully catch yourself a few fish which will then be cooked on board for lunch. Return to your hotel after lunch in the early afternoon.
