Perfume River Journey

At the riverside in Hue, board a boat for a wonderful journey up the Perfume River to the tombs of Vietnam’s emperors. During a two-hour journey upriver you can first explore Thien Mu Pagoda, a serene and picturesque landmark which is also an important Buddhist site. From here, in 1963, the monk Thich Quang Duc traveled in his pale blue Austin to Ho Chi Minh City and publicly burned himself to death to protest against the anti-Buddhist stance of the President.

Continuing upstream, you will disembark at Minh Mang’s tomb, set in gardens of pine and frangipani.
