The Perle Hotel

The Perle Hotel

Oban, The UK

This elegant hotel sits on Oban’s waterfront in the heart of the city. Its grand, heritage exterior is complemented by a decidedly contemporary interior which blends the high ceilings and period details with plush drapes, light wooden floors and feature lighting.

These clean lines and vibrant tones continue into the rooms, which are spacious and attractive. All come with a Nespresso machine and Bose Bluetooth speakers, and have tall windows which bathe the rooms in natural light and, in some cases, offer sweeping views across the bay.

The hotel restaurant serves Mediterranean fare at lunch and in the evening, while the hotel’s café-bar, Brew & Co, serves hot drinks and snacks during the day and cocktails in the evening.

OUR OPINION:

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful location, and we love the views across the bay. This is our top choice in Oban.

Rooms

Each of the 59 rooms is decorated in a chic, modern style with clean lines and designer touches complementing the period details. A palette of bright teal and dark blues set against crisp whites and steely grays reflects the oceanfront location. Large windows let in lots of natural light and sea view rooms overlook the ocean toward Kerrera. All rooms have Wi-Fi, a Nespresso machine, Bose Bluetooth speakers and a large flat-screen TV. Bathrooms feature Mediterranean-style tiling and a powerful rain shower.

Location

Situated next to the railway station in between the two ferry piers, Perle Oban Hotel is conveniently placed in the heart of the town. It overlooks the bay, providing views toward Kerrera Island. Due to its central location it doesn’t have a car park, although the concierge can recommend nearby options.

Food and drink

Breakfast is served in the hotel’s main restaurant BAAB, which has attractive wooden floors, high ceilings and tall bay windows. For lunch and dinner the menu is eastern Mediterranean in style with Greek, Turkish and Levantine cuisine. Chargrilled meats and seafood are matched by a range of meze and speciality desserts. Brew & Co is the hotel’s coffee shop, serving hot drinks, cakes and pastries throughout the day and cocktails in the evening.
