Published: 10/13/2022   /   Updated: 10/13/2022

Europe has long been one of ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½’s top destinations and the bespoke operator is encouraging clients to book their spring and summer European trips soon to take advantage of the current strength of the dollar.

Clients booking in the coming days and weeks will be able to secure their choices of Audley’s favorite characterful accommodation, as well as tours in Europe’s cities and countryside, at the exchange rate on the day they book, meaning they are likely to end up paying substantially less than if they wait and the European currencies to recover in the meantime.

Audley’s specialists recommend:

Italy

A popular choice for clients is a tour of Italy’s art cities: Venice, Florence and Rome. They visit secret chambers within Venice’s Doge's Palace and travel the Grand Canal on a private boat. In Rome they see Michelangelo's masterpiece on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel with a private guide and take a private tour of the Colosseum as well as experience Baroque art through Caravaggio's most famous works in the Borghese Gallery and Santa Maria del Popolo Church.

A 10-day bespoke trip costs from $6,275 per person (based on two sharing) and includes transfers, excursions and accommodation. 855-435-1768/www.audleytravel.com/us/italy.

England and Scotland

Audley’s specialists recommend a tour that visits Bath and London in England before crossing the border into Scotland to spend time in Edinburgh and Cairngorms National Park.

Clients enjoy a traditional English high tea and visit the famous Roman Baths in the city of Bath as well as Bath Abbey, which was built in the 1600s. They take a tour of London in a traditional black cab, enjoy a West End show and explore Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London.

Clients travel to Scotland by train, enjoying a guided walking tour of the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh’s Old Town on the first afternoon. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the British monarchy.

Clients travel by rental car to Pitlochry, on the edge of Cairngorms National Park to spend time wildlife spotting. The final day is spent exploring the Rothiemurchus Estate in a Land Rover with a countryside ranger.

A nine-day bespoke itinerary exploring the Capitals and Countryside of England and Scotland costs from $6,630 per person (based on two sharing). The price includes transfers, accommodation and excursions. 855-435-1768/www.audleytravel.com/us/united-kingdom.

Greek islands

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½’s Greece specialists recommend an itinerary exploring the Cycladic Islands of Milos, Paros and Naxos. Highlights on Milos include taking a privately guided geological tour seeing volcanic fields, beaches lined with red and white rocks and an abandoned sulfur mine by the sea.

On Paros clients take a private guided tour visiting traditional towns and tiny hamlets that have remained relatively unchanged for centuries. The expert local guide takes clients for a hike along rocky Byzantine paths which connect areas of the island that most visitors wouldn’t come across.

Clients enjoy time relaxing on Naxos, with a day aboard a private catamaran cruising the coastlines of the Small Cyclades off Naxos.

A nine day bespoke trip Cycladic Islands: Milos, Paros and Naxos costs from $5,345 per person (based on two sharing). The price includes transfers, ferry crossings, accommodation and excursions. 855-435-1768/www.audleytravel.com/us/greece.

Alex Bentley, Head of Product at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½, says: “Our clients particularly enjoy the cultural touring in Europe, meeting locals and getting to really understand the character of a country. The strength of the dollar at the moment helps balance out some of the inflation-related price rises seen in the destinations, especially if they are able to lock in the prices at today’s exchange rate.”
