La Villa Romaine

La Villa Romaine

³§²¹°ù±ô²¹³Ù-±ô²¹-°ä²¹²Ôé»å²¹, France

Built on an ancient Roman site and echoing the simple architectural style of a Roman stone villa, this hotel exudes understated elegance but with an intrinsically French atmosphere. Cypress trees, box and lavender line the wide pathways between the hotel’s three buildings, terrace and swimming pool, which has views of the Dordogne Valley below.

Located just a few miles outside the medieval town of ³§²¹°ù±ô²¹³Ù-±ô²¹-°ä²¹²Ôé»å²¹, on the banks of the Dordogne River, this boutique property allows easy exploration of the region while still offering a quiet refuge from the busy towns and popular historic sights close by. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, serving local seasonal dishes.

The 17 rooms and suites are spacious and comfortable, and offer views of the park, the courtyard or the pool. All have air conditioning and free Wi-Fi and many can accommodate children.

OUR OPINION:

We love this hotel for its secluded location, elegant architecture and relaxed atmosphere. The swimming pool overlooking the valley was a definite hit with us, and the proximity to Sarlat and the region’s major attractions gave us plenty of options for exploring.
