The Mövenpick Resort Aswan is an upmarket hotel with an unrivaled location in Aswan and great facilities. Take advantage of its unique position on a narrow island in the middle of the Nile, and enjoy the 360-degree panoramic views across to the Mausoleum of Agha Khan, Aswan city, and river.
There are two wings to the building, the new wing and the old wing, and both have an outdoor swimming pool, bars and restaurants. Rooms are set across both wings, although we’d suggest requesting a room in the new wing as these are more modern.
Rooms are contemporary, clean and decorated in a traditional Nubian style, a nod to the local culture and history of Aswan. There is a huge range of dining options on site, and four restaurants to choose from which offer a variety of cuisines, from local Nubian, to international.
There is also a small gym and spa on site offering a range of treatments. Staff here are friendly and attentive, although service can be a little slow at busy times.
Although quite easily the ugliest building in Aswan, perched like an airport control tower in the middle of the Nile, the Mövenpick is actually a very pleasant place to stay.
