Eileen

Costa Rica & Ecuador Specialist

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when my love for travel began. What I do know is that growing up, my backyard was the perfect canvas to become anywhere I wanted it to be: the beaches of Australia, the mountains of Argentina, and the bustling cities of Europe. Fortunately, I have now been able to channel that sense of adventure into arenas beyond the backyard, with no plans of slowing down.

My first experience in Latin America found me climbing volcanoes and exploring Mayan ruins in Guatemala and soaking in the beauty of the Salvadoran coastline. After falling in love with the region, I traveled extensively through the lush rainforests of Costa Rica and the awe-inspiring landscapes of Ecuador, discovering an endless array of natural beauty and local hospitality.

I am so thrilled to be a part of creating memorable journeys for Audley clients. Whether you are looking to relax on a beach or hike through breathtaking trails, there is something for everyone in these destinations.

Q&A with Eileen

Eileen having birthday cake at el remanso

What’s the best local dish you’ve tasted?

During my time in Costa Rica, I celebrated my birthday at a beautiful lodge tucked into the jungle on the Osa Peninsula. After dinner, they surprised me with the most delicious chocolate cake I have ever tasted, with local chocolate of course.

Dolphin pod, Azores

What’s your most vivid travel moment?

During my time on a cruise through the Galapagos Islands, my group was snorkelling around a jagged rock in the middle of the ocean known as Devil’s Crown when, suddenly, a group of about 100 dolphins swam right by. Words can’t describe the awe that overcame me in that moment as I soaked in their majestic mastery of the water. Those once-in-a-lifetime moments keep my motivation for travel alive and well.

Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia

Where would you like to travel to next?

Hands down, Patagonia, in Chile. It's been at the top of my bucket list for years and I am absolutely hoping to get there soon.
