Hotel Pakaritampu

Sacred Valley, Peru

Hotel Pakaritampu enjoys a tranquil setting in beautifully manicured gardens. The property is divided into several different blocks, each painted in a warm terracotta and linked by a series of flower-lined pathways.

Inside, the hotel has a warm, rustic ambiance that adds to its overall character. Accommodation is fairly simple but offers all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay in the incredible Sacred Valley.

OUR OPINION:

Although the rooms are relatively simple, we think the Pakaritampu provides the ideal base for a short stay in the Sacred Valley. Ollantaytambo station is just a five-minute walk away, ideal if you are taking an early train to Machu Picchu.

Excellent

Rooms

The Pakaritampu has Standard and Superior rooms as well as a more spacious Suite. There's not much difference between the Standard and Superior categories other than there being slightly more space in the Superior options. All rooms are relatively ‘no-frills’, but do feature private bathrooms, TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. The decor and amenities offered in the Suite are not considerably different to the other room categories, but it does feature its own small living area.

Location

The hotel is located just a five-minute walk from Ollantaytambo train station, on the main train line to Machu Picchu. Pakaritampu’s Sacred Valley setting also means it enjoys wonderful mountain views, but with the added convenience of the town of Ollanta just a ten-minute walk away. Here you'll find a selection of shops and restaurants, as well as remnants of a magnificent Inca fortress.

Food and drink

The hotel serves a daily buffet breakfast with plenty of choice, including a variety of cereals, fresh fruit and cooked options. You can even try local breakfast options such as a quinoa cereal! The on site restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, serving local and international dishes, but should you fancy a change the restaurants in the town are within easy reach.

Facilities and activities

The hotel features various outdoor terraces for relaxation, as well as a library, cosy TV lounge and log fire, which is lit each night. A laundry service is also available, along with free parking and assistance to the train station.
