Responsible Choice
A wonderful place for you to slow down after a trek, Tiger Mountain is an extremely comfortable lodge with rooms built of hand-cut local stone, many of which offer views of the Annapurna range.
The central lodge consists of a lounge with a cosy fireplace which is lovely to retreat to on winter evenings. The veranda and terrace are a pleasant setting for meals in the sunshine. Next to the bar you will find a fascinating collection of Himalayan mountaineering literature in Colonel Jimmy’s library.
Although the views dominate everything while you are at the lodge, the experience is complemented by the ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude of the team at Tiger Mountain.

Rooms
The lodge has 13 bungalows that are spread throughout the rewilded grounds and provide 16 rooms built of hand-cut local stone, each with a bathroom and private veranda with some offering mountain views. There are no TVs in the rooms, however Wi-Fi and a mobile phone is provided with preloaded numbers for you to contact the relevant staff and to call room-to-room if required.
Location
Located half an hour away from Pokhara, 300 m (984 ft) above on a hilltop ridge, Tiger Mountain offers sweeping views of the Himalayas and is perfect for those who wish to be completely removed from their busy life and want to relax.
Food and drink
Being an intimate setting, service is thoughtful and personal. As the sunrise lightens the Himalaya you will receive a knock at your bedroom door for bed tea served with homemade biscuits. Alternately, if you want to relax, the wakeup call and bed tea will arrive at the time of your choice.
Lunch is generally served alfresco — a tempting buffet of authentic Nepali curries and rice served with all the traditional trimmings of roti and pickles. For those who want an alternative, there’s a selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, and light items available.
Dinner could be either a three-course continental meal or a traditional Nepali thali served in the spacious dining room. Local organic coffee or tea served with brandy, single malt whisky or liqueurs ends the day around the fire in the Main Lodge.
Please note that due to their remote location and focus on reducing waste and to avoid repetition, the lodge will check your food preferences for the next meal just after the preceding one.
Facilities and activities
While Tiger Mountain is a wonderful place for you to slow down your pace of travel, the lodge is happy to suggest a range of diverse walks including a picnic if you wish to explore the surrounding forest and villages. The grounds are home to many species of birds and butterflies. Other facilities include a secluded swimming pool that offers uninterrupted mountain views, yoga and massage can be arranged upon request too.
