Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us about booking your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Tokyo.

  • After passing through customs and luggage collection, you're met by an airport guide who will give you your trip documents and direct you to the private car that will take you to your hotel. After checking in, spend the rest of the day at leisure, resting and relaxing after your flight. If you want to explore, you may wish to walk around the Imperial Gardens.

  • Head out to see the city with a private guide. A good place to start would be the Hamarikyu Gardens where you can take a river cruise up the Sumida River to see the old Asakusa district.

  • You will have the unforgettable chance to learn samurai swordplay skills from the team who were behind the fight choreography of Tarantino's Kill Bill action movie. Spend the rest of the day exploring this expansive metropolis.

  • Take the bullet train west to Japan's cultural heart and past capital, Kyoto. Kyoto is one of the world's most culturally rich cities with 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, more than 1,600 Buddhist temples, and over 400 Shinto shrines. When you reach Kyoto, you'll meet your guide for a half-day tour of Kyoto's main sights. This evening, meet our geisha guide for a walk through the Gion district to spot the elusive geisha on the way to their appointments.

  • In the morning, head out with a local guide to see some of the spectacular temples in Kyoto. Stop at Kodai-ji, one of the city's most exclusive places for tea ceremonies, before continuing to the Higashiyama district to gaze upon the awe-inspiring architecture of the area.

  • Today is a chance to explore some of the temples further afield with a private guide. Fushimi-inari Taisha Shrine is famous for the tunnels of red Torii gates working their way through the forest and is one of the best sights in Japan. About an hour from Kyoto is the ancient capital of Nara where you can find Todai-ji, one of the largest wooden structures in the world, set in beautiful parkland filled with tame deer.

  • Travel from Kyoto to Hakone. Hakone National Park is known for the open-air art museum, grand views of Mt. Fuji (weather permitting), sulphuric hot springs, and unique forms of transportation (cable car, ropeway, ship and local train). Enjoy your resort this evening and the incredible ryokan experience with kaiseki meals included.

  • A privately guided tour of Hakone National Park today will ensure you see the highlights of this beautiful area in the most informative and fun way. Return to your resort tonight for another incredible meal.

  • A private car will transfer you from your hotel in Hakone directly to the airport in plenty of time for your return flight home later today. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
