Pal Haveli, Jodphur

Pal Haveli

Jodhpur, India

Pal Haveli belonged to the family of Thakur Umaid Karanji, who accompanied the new Maharaja from Gujarat to Jodhpur in the 19th century, serving as their home from the 19th century until 2000. Now a characterful hotel, the property provides a homely base as you explore the delights of Jodhpur’s old city, with its central location putting you right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of daily life.

To preserve the past, the owners have retained traditional features such as teakwood furnishings, stone staircases and materials crafted by local weavers, creating an interesting and authentic environment. With comfortable rooms, a choice of restaurants and wonderful views of the fort from its rooftop, the hotel makes a great base for exploring this colourful city.

OUR OPINION:

While some of the furnishings can appear a little tired due to the age of this heritage property, we think this haveli is ideal for those who want to be in the hustle and bustle of the city and who are happy to explore on foot to get a real taste of life in Jodhpur's old city. It's worth noting that there are a number of very steep and uneven steps around the hotel, including up to the restaurant.
