White-water rafting on the Sarapiqui River

Sarapiqui River Rafting

You will be collected from your hotel early in the morning and transferred by comfortable mini bus to the drop-in point on the river's edge. Here you will have a safety briefing with your raft guide before entering the water.

This trip takes in some of the best rafting on the Sarapiqui River and covers a stretch of seven miles between the two communities of La Virgen and Chilamate. This lovely section of the river features four class II rapids and 20 class III rapids and is a gentler rafting experience than some of the other river trips in Costa Rica. There will be time to relax and enjoy views of the surrounding tropical rainforest between some of the rapids and spot wildlife such as toucans, cormorants, kingfishers, howler monkeys, hummingbirds and much more.

You will stop at one of the still water pools where you can relax, swim and taste the delicious tropical fruits from the surrounding jungle.

After the rafting you can relax at the Selva Verde restaurant, where there are showers and changing facilities, before returning to your hotel.
