Little Arches Boutique Hotel

Oistins, Barbados

This delightful little boutique hotel on the south coast of Barbados is located in a quiet residential area across the road from the white sands of Enterprise Beach.

Originally a private home it has just 10 rooms, each unique, and staff pride themselves on their personalised service. This family owned and operated hotel has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and a pretty Mediterranean style.

With a fabulous rooftop bar and restaurant, just perfect for sunsets over the Caribbean Sea, Little Arches gives a very different experience of Barbados from the large resorts the island is known for.

OUR OPINION:

A fabulous little adult only boutique hotel in a quiet location, but within easy reach of the hustle and bustle of the south coast towns.

Location

Little Arches is set in a quiet part of the south coast, just 5 minutes’ walk from the fishing village of Oistins, popular for its Friday night fish fry where the fishermen’s catch is cooked up and sold by local families from small stalls. It’s also only just over 10 minutes’ drive from the airport making arrivals and departures very convenient.

In Oistins you will find a supermarket and a few local eateries and although the local area is beautifully quiet and feels more local than some of the more developed areas, the lively nightlife and dining area of St Lawrence Gap is just 3 miles from the hotel.

A minutes’ walk from the hotel is Enterprise Beach, known locally as Miami Beach, a small, pretty beach popular with locals.

There is a shuttle bus running three times a week that takes you to different beaches and parts of the island.

Food and drink

Café Luna is Little Arches’ fabulous rooftop restaurant, offering all day al-fresco dining with panoramic views of the sea. Specialising in fusion Caribbean Asian and Mediterranean flavours, this foodie’s paradise has won numerous awards and is a firm favourite with locals too.

The bar at Café Luna is also a popular spot; perfect for relaxing with a cocktail or two whilst enjoying the magnificent sunsets. Make sure you enjoy the sunset from the delightful rooftop bar.

Families

Little Arches only accept guests over 16 years of age.

Facilities and activities

As this is a small, boutique hotel, it naturally doesn’t have the range of facilities that a larger resort would. However, there is a small pool and the hotel will happily deliver beach chairs and towels to Enterprise Beach for you by request. In addition, Little Arches offer beach shuttle services to other nearby beaches three times a week. The hotel is a partner of the PGA Barbados Golf Club nearby, so will happily arrange golf for you. Guests also have use of a tandem bicycle and beach cruiser bikes.

The hotel's mini spa is nestled in a private, peaceful corner of the tropical gardens. A variety of treatments are offered, including Hawaiian and Swedish massages, Indian head massages, aromatherapy, couples’ massages, manicures and pedicures. These can be enjoyed at the spa itself or in the comfort of your room. You can also join a sunrise or sunset yoga and stretching session on the beach, which is a wonderful way to start or end a day.

Little Arches does not have a dive centre on site but there are numerous dive operators on the island and the hotel will be happy to guide you on the best option for your requirements.

Environmental and social responsibility

Little Arches supports the Variety Club of Barbados, aimed at supporting the necessary head start for children of under privileged backgrounds in Barbados.

The hotel is also a proud member of the Pack for a Purpose charity initiative, an operation that provides current information on requested supplies by community-based projects around the globe.

Local excursions

The hotel is always happy to help plan any excursions and there’s certainly no shortage of places to visit on the island. They particularly recommend going to watch a polo match or a game of cricket, as well as visiting Harrison’s Caves and Andromeda Botanical Gardens.
