Itinerary idea in detail

With international flights from a choice of airports including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Hobart.

  • On-board your international outbound flight to Hobart.

  • Welcome to Australia. You will be picked up by a private driver on arrival at the airport and transferred to your Hobart accommodation. Either side of the Maria Island walk you will have four nights to explore Hobart, Tasmania’s capital. Historically home to convicts, smugglers and whalers, Hobart’s storied past is evident in every corner of this quirky city.

  • Today, you will embark on your big Maria Island adventure — the perfect way to walk off your jet lag. You will be collected from Hobart and taken to the beautifully remote island today, ready for four days of walking, fantastic scenery, gourmet Tasmanian produce and wildlife spotting.

  • Day two of the Maria Island walk. You will cover five of the Island's most stunning beaches today and see some incredible wildlife along the way — Maria Island is known locally as Australia's 'Noah's Ark' due to the abundant and diverse wildlife on the island.

  • Day three of the Maria Island walk. Head inland as the scenery changes from sweeping coastal views to lush green forest. Today, you will pass some of the island's most notorious convict sites and places of aboriginal significance. If you're feeling fit, you will also have the chance to summit Mount Maria or Bishop and Clerk for stunning panoramic views of the island.

  • The final day of the walk — take the chance to visit the probation station and explore some more of Darlington and the surrounds before being transported back to Hobart this afternoon by boat and private transfer.

  • A day at leisure to explore historic Hobart. If visiting on a Saturday, you may like to explore the artisanal markets in Salamanca, one of Australia’s best-known outdoor markets, or you could hire a car and drive to the top of Kunanyi, Mount Wellington, to admire panoramic views of the city below.

  • Today, you will take a ferry to MONA in the 'posh pit' to experience an art gallery like no other before embarking on a privately guided vineyard tour and degustation at the experimental Moorilla Estate.

  • Fly to Australia’s sunniest city on the new direct flight from Hobart to Perth. On arrival, you will be met by a private driver and transferred to your hotel. Here, you will spend four nights either side of the Cape to Cape walk, enjoying the never-ending azure skies and near-deserted beaches of one of the world’s most remote cities.

  • You will spend the next four days in the stunning Margaret River wine region, home to the Cape to Cape Track, the second ‘Great Walk’ of your trip. The walk encompasses 14 km (7 miles) of stunning trails, taking in the majestic coastline of the Margaret River region, sky-high karri forests, and some of the best food and wine in Australia.

  • Day two of the Cape to Cape walk and you will walk some of the best and most picturesque sections of the track today with your experienced guide, including the stunning section from Redgate to Boranup above the immaculate Contos beach.

  • Today, you will continue the walk and spend some time on Smith’s and Injidup beaches, two of the region's most stunning spots for swimming, surfing, or just relaxing and enjoying the view.

  • The final day of your walk. In the morning, you will walk the 8 km (5 mile) section between Moses Rock and Wilyabrup sea cliffs. Following this, you will enjoy a well-earned four-course lunch at the award-winning Wills Domain Winery in the Gunyulgup Valley before being transferred back to Perth in the afternoon.

  • A day at leisure today to relax and explore Perth and the surrounds — why not visit Little Creatures Brewing in hip Fremantle, a local institution, to sample some of Australia’s best craft beers. It's also worth taking the time to explore King’s Park and Botanic Garden, the biggest city park in the world, to discover over 3,000 species of flora, rich aboriginal history and enjoy wide-ranging views of the city and waterways below.

  • Fly over Rottnest Island by seaplane today for stunning aerial views of this wild, protected nature reserve, before enjoying some time on the beach or a cycle around the island’s coastline.

  • The final day of your trip — spend the morning walking around the new Elizabeth Quay precinct or visit the state building after breakfast before heading back to the airport for your onward flight home.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
