Designed by world famous architect, Bill Bensley, the InterContinental Khao Yai Resort draws inspiration from a bygone era, where rail travel in Thailand was both luxurious and necessary. Some details are subtle, but others like the heritage rail-car themed rooms take the design of the hotel to a new and unique level.

The setting of Khao Yai National Park makes it an ideal base to explore nature in relatively close proximity to the capital, Bangkok. The jungle and lake surroundings house a wide variety of flora and fauna including wild elephants and tropical fruits, making it a beautiful place to relax. Facilities at the hotel are plentiful and include several dining options, in-house spa, and a variety of family friendly activities. The signature restaurant, Poirot and upcycled train car, Papillon Bar are not to be missed.

Rooms

The hotel has a selection of rail carriage themed rooms, suites, and villas, some with accompanying terrace or plunge pool. Garden and lake views are available as are family ‘bunk’ style rooms and two bed accommodation options. Amenities include separate living space, large walk-in showers or bathtub, minibar, and luxury toiletries.

Location

The resort is located in close proximity to Khao Yai National Park. Easily accessible from Bangkok, the park boasts rich flora and fauna, nature trails and one of Thailand's few wine regions.

Food and drink

Whether dining alfresco or in the comfortable interior of a converted heritage train car, the InterContinental Khao Yai Resort has a variety of options. Somying's Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and serves up dishes local to Khao Yai and its surrounds. Poirot is the hotel’s signature restaurant — housed in an upcycled first-class train carriage, and open for dinner only, the restaurant offers a take on French fine dining.
