Octant Ponta Delgada

Octant Ponta Delgada

The Azores, Portugal

Located at the end of the Ponta Delgada marina just outside the heart of the city, Octant Ponta Delgada boasts excellent views over the water, where on a clear day a keen eye just might be able to spot a whale or dolphin. About a five-minute walk from the marina and a 15-minute walk from central Ponta Delgada, the hotel enjoys a quiet location that is still accessible to the sights and sounds of the city.

The hotel’s 123 rooms are decorated simply, with fresh white linens and wood-paneled floors and walls, all boasting sea views. En suite bathrooms are adorned in sleek, dark tiling, offering slippers, robes and a large walk-in shower.

Breakfast is served buffet-style each morning in the À Terra restaurant until 11am, offering a mix of hot and cold items, including local Azorean products. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, using a menu that incorporates primarily local dishes such as aged beef, artisan cheese and fresh seafood. Guests can also enjoy the lobby bar, serving local ice cream, cheese and wine, or the top-floor Whale Watching Bar, offering light fare and drinks throughout the evening. The Whale Watching Bar also features a DJ from 7-10pm Wednesday through Saturday.
