La Maison Arabe

Marrakesh, Morocco

La Maison Arabe combines the rich, warm colors of the African continent with the style and grace of a French country house. Using traditional Moroccan art and ornaments as well as more European-style paintings and artwork, it is positioned as one of the most opulent of Marrakesh's riads. The new wing has a more modern feel with all the facilities you could ask for, while the old area arguably has more authentic character. The riad has a sizeable heated pool and a gorgeous spa area with treatment rooms and a hammam on the bottom floor.

Although it feels more like a hotel than some of the other, more traditional riads, La Maison Arabe is still one of the longest-established and best known accommodations in the city. Cuisine is a big focus, with a superb kitchen on-site, offering possibly the most famous cooking courses in Marrakesh.
