Ca Maria Adele

Ca Maria Adele

Venice, Italy

The Ca Maria Adele offers a truly intimate atmosphere. Located on the tip of the Dorsoduro area of Venice, with a small canal separating it from the imposing La Salute Church, the property was once officers’ quarters. As such, it doesn’t feel like a hotel — with its immaculate sitting room complete with rich oil paintings, heavy brocade and dark atmospheric lighting. However, it quickly becomes clear that the Ca Maria Adele is a wonderful mixture of the historic and the contemporary. There is a small roof terrace area with charming views across the rooftops to the Giudecca Channel where you can relax over breakfast or a drink.

OUR OPINION:

The Ca Maria Adele is a boutique property that offers a particularly special experience in Venice. Far more personal than the grand hotels, we love the intimate atmosphere and stylish design and particularly recommend it for honeymooners.

Rooms

A boutique hotel to the core, all the rooms at the Ca Maria Adele have their own intrinsic style and are immaculately designed to reflect different influences of Venetian heritage. The Deluxe rooms and suites boast rich fabric and beautiful brocades while the five signature concept rooms — Sala Noir, Doge’s Room, Oriental Room, Fireplace Room and Moorish Room — are each as unique as they are beautiful. All the rooms offer plenty of modern comforts, including flat-screen TVs that feature live webcam footage of the Grand Canal, modern bathrooms, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning.

Location

Just across the water from the St Mark’s area, the hotel is situated toward the eastern tip of the Dorsoduro section of the city, halfway between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Channel. The Accademia Bridge is a ten-minute walk away or, to cross the Grand Canal more quickly, there is also a traghetto (gondola-style foot ferry) crossing point one street away.

Food and drink

Guests can enjoy breakfast either in the main dining room, one of the small sitting rooms, or even on the roof terrace depending on their preference. There is also a drinks station should guests wish to enjoy an evening drink or relax in one of the charming sitting areas.
