Mihir Garh

Rohet, India

Commanding a wonderful setting in the middle of the desert, a mere 30 minutes from Rohet, close to the Wilderness Camp, Mihir Garh offers a stunning retreat like few others in Rajasthan. Meaning the Sun Fortress, Mihir Garh is surrounded by scrub farmland and has 360 Degree views with wonderful night skies to marvel under.

Despite its location and traditional appearance (it is constructed out of wattle, mud and wood) Mihir Garh offers a luxurious stay, with more than 1,700 square feet of private space, including private terraces to sleep under the stars, plunge pools or Jacuzzis and private courtyards. Each suite has a large sitting room and bedroom, and spacious bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers, and all the modern electronic amenities one might expect for a five-star hotel. There is a main infinity pool and sun terrace along with a spa for those who simply want to relax and unwind.

Dining is an intimate affair with just nine suites and there is a beautiful dining room and barbecue terrace that offers both Indian and Continental cuisine. There will be a member of the Rohet family, who own the Wilderness Camp and Rohet Garh, on hand to ensure that your stay is perfect. It is fantastic for riding with the owner's stable boasting some of the finest Marwari horses, picnics and excursions and camel safaris.
