Icelandair Hotel M媒vatn

Berjaya M媒vatn Hotel

Lake M媒vatn, Iceland

Built on the same foundation as one of the region鈥檚 original hotels, this boutique style property is just a short stroll from Lake M媒vatn, Iceland's fourth largest body of water. Beneath the modern glass and wood fa莽ade, you鈥檙e met with a lobby designed by Swedish installation artist, Michael Johansson, who has reassembled and rearranged items from Hotel聽Reynihl铆冒 to preserve its historic quality and charm. The quirky theme continues in the 59 stylish rooms and suites, all with contemporary and adventurous Scandinavian decor, walls adorned with black and white photographs and abstract artworks, and bright soft furnishings in hues of pink, blue, and yellow. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, telephones, tea and coffee-making facilities, and en suite bathrooms with showers, hair dryers, and toiletries.

Elsewhere, you鈥檒l find outdoor hot tubs from where you can watch the northern lights when they鈥檙e visible, a fireplace for relaxing with a book, and a bar that hosts daily happy hours. There鈥檚 also a restaurant for buffet breakfasts as well as varied 脿 la carte lunch and dinner menus with Icelandic classics such as lamb, arctic char, and skyr cake. The international prix fixe offerings are equally tempting.

OUR OPINION:
