Originally built in 1966 and substantially renovated over the decades, this contemporary hotel in the small fishing town of Höfn is a stylish base from which to explore southeast Iceland and enjoy nature at its best. Not only will you have the geothermal attractions of Vatnajökull National Park on your doorstep, but you’ll also be within easy distance of an art museum, nature reserve, and marina.

Available in three categories, the sleek and minimalist rooms feature soothing neutral and gray hues, comfortable beds with high quality linens, flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee-making facilities. There are also spacious seating areas, desks with overhead lights, and en suite bathrooms with showers and toiletries by organic Icelandic brand, Sóley Organics.

Elsewhere, you’ll find a restaurant that pulls focus on Icelandic cuisine using fresh and seasonal raw ingredients and serves buffet breakfasts and à la carte dinners. The hotel also hosts a daily happy hour from 4pm to 6pm.

OUR OPINION:

We love the peaceful setting of this contemporary hotel in the southeast fishing town of Höfn, known as the langoustine capital of Iceland. The panoramic views of the Vatnajökull glacier are a real highlight.

You’ll be staying in Höfn, the small fishing town on Iceland’s southeast coast that’s most famous for its langoustine. Nearby attractions include Vatnajökull National Park for its ice caves, glaciers, and hiking trails, and the ´³Ã¶°ì³Ü±ô²õá°ù±ôó²Ô Glaciar Lagoon for its huge icebergs. There’s also an art museum, nature reserve, and marina within easy distance of the hotel.

Pulling focus on Icelandic cuisine using fresh and seasonal raw ingredients, Ósinn Restaurant serves buffet breakfasts and à la carte dinners. The menu includes local langoustine as well meat dishes, pasta, salads, pizza, and vegetarian options. There is also a daily happy hour from 4pm to 6pm.

The restaurant offers a children’s menu that includes fish and chips, pizza, tagliatelle with butter and parmesan sauce, and a scoop of ice cream.

The hotel has a 24-hour reception desk as well as a laundry and ironing service. You can request a wake-up call for when the northern lights are visible during the winter.
