Sir Nikolai

Sir Nikolai

Hamburg, Germany

Located on a quiet, secluded street on the Nikolaifleet canal, Sir Nikolai offers a sophisticated, artisanal retreat a short walk from Hamburg’s main sights. As a guest, you can also enjoy complimentary treatments at the hotel’s spa, which offers a sauna, whirlpool and massage and therapy rooms.

The hotel has a chic feel, with curved, dark suede chairs, large circular mirrors and soft lighting. The stylish decor offers personal touches through details like its custom-made furniture and books from local authors. There’s also an atrium with a glass ceiling that opens up to the sky, letting in bright, natural light.

There are 94 rooms and suites at Sir Nikolai, all with bright-white walls, black-and-white minimalist artwork and vintage rugs, and some with views out over the canal. Much of the decor and furniture plays off the hotel’s history as a former seed warehouse.

OUR OPINION:

We like this hotel for its style and location. It offers a secluded escape of comfort and sophistication within walking distance of the main shopping area and port of Hamburg.
