Hotel d'Argouges

Hôtel d’Argouges

Bayeux, France

Built in an imposing private 18th-century townhouse, Hôtel d’Argouges is an historic property, and the traditional artwork on its walls, chandeliers, and mosaic and parquet flooring give it a real elegance. You can wander out into Bayeux to explore the medieval city or relax in the hotel's gardens and courtyard. Situated in the heart of Bayeux, both Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Tapestry Museum are only a short walk away.

Spread across three buildings, the spacious rooms are ornately decorated in traditional Norman fashion with wooden beams and original antique furniture. Filled with natural light, rooms offer views of the courtyard or gardens.

While there's no restaurant on site, there are many within walking distance and the hotel staff will gladly provide their preferred suggestions. Breakfast is served in the dining room or in the garden.

OUR OPINION:

A heritage-style hotel in the heart of medieval Bayeux, we find that this 18th-century townhouse is at once an elegant and peaceful setting ideal for relaxing in the quiet garden, as well as a convenient base from which to explore the nearby Norman coastline.
