Private stargazing at Elqui Domos

Milky Way, Elqui Valley

With the absence of light pollution and favorable climate, the Elqui Valley provides fantastic opportunities to view the night-time sky. Today you will experience a private stargazing tour at Elqui Domos. The observatory here consists of two motorized domes that house Schmidt-Cassegrain type telescopes, providing you with the opportunity to observe the moon, galaxies, nebula and all kinds of constellations.

Visits run from 9pm every hour up until midnight during the summer, while in the winter months the tours will start earlier at 6.30pm. With their own observatory and guide who comes to the hotel especially for the visits, you discover how these incredible stars are formed. The tour will start with a briefing outside and then you will move into the observatory for the stargazing experience through a professional telescope. On most viewings, you will be able to see Jupiter, Venus and The Southern Cross.
